A New Transitional Housing Program for Homeless Women
On October 10, 2007, twins Brenda Wilson, President / CEO, and Lynda Moran, Deputy Director, of New Image Emergency Shelter unveiled their most recent accomplishment, Project Fresh Start, a new transitional housing program for homeless women.
The Grand Opening Ceremony for Project Fresh Start was truly a grand event. The Keynote Speaker for the ceremony was Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke. Also in attendance were Councilwoman Jan Perry, her Chief of Staff, Kathy Godfrey, Councilman Bernard Parks,
Comedian Michael Colyar, and many more.
The day’s events included the pledge of allegiance with a presentation from the colorgaurd, and a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner by singer Desiree Coleman, a bit of comedic relief by Comedian Michael Colyar, an awards presentation to key contributors/supporters of New
Image programs and services, and tours of the completely rehabilitated facility.
